With 50 years of experience, Cunninghams EPOS Group has been at the forefront of innovative EPOS solutions, transforming the way businesses operate. From our humble beginnings in 1975 to becoming a market leader in the UK, our journey has been defined by innovation, strategic growth, and an unwavering commitment to our customers.

A legacy built on dedication and growth


Cunninghams Cash Registers Ltd was founded in 1975 by Bob Cunningham, laying the foundation for a company that would grow into one of the UK’s most trusted EPOS providers. Bob later passed the business on to his son-in-law, Lawrence Bailey, who continued to expand and modernise the company.


Over the years, we’ve reached some key milestones that have shaped our legacy:


  • Office relocations: From our original base in Selly Oak, we moved to Moseley, and then to Headley Technology in 2000/2001. Each relocation reflected steady growth and the need for more advanced facilities to support our expanding team and operations.

  • Exclusive partnerships: Becoming the sole English distributor of Impact Cashless Catering (from CRB Solutions) was a major step in diversifying our offerings.

  • Geographic expansion: Through growth and acquisitions, we opened offices in Bristol, London, Belfast, Glasgow, and Nairn.

  • Leadership transitions: Following the passing of Lawrence Bailey in 2008, Clive Quinn (Managing Director) and Albert Czaja played a crucial role in driving further expansion.

  • Strategic acquisitions: Our acquisition by Vesta Software Group in October 2014, followed by mergers with FM in 2015 and EPOS Group in 2016, solidified our market position, enhanced our capabilities, and secured investment for the future.

  • Rebrand growth: From 1975 to 2023, we traded as Cunninghams Cash Registers Ltd. In 2023, we rebranded to Cunninghams EPOS Group – a name that reflects how far we’ve come and our ongoing commitment to delivering EPOS systems that help businesses streamline operations and grow with confidence.
